The loss of a loved people is one of the most difficult situations to face throughout the life. When that situation appears during the chilhood, children experience the pain for the loss but also it represents a brokenness of their sense of security. The purpose of this paper is to present the I.D.A Model (Information, Decision and Attention), based on clinical experience, to be used as a tool for assessing the needs of children facing the loss of a loved one. In this sense, the model enables the detection of the deficient areas of basic child support grieving and therefore allows planning and managing interventions to prevent the onset of complications in the process of overcoming of grief. The mail goal of this model is to facilitate the inclusion of the children in the family experience, legitimizing the right to make decisions and the care of their psychological, emotional and existential needs
