Subjetividades tejidas en historias de violencias de género y procesos migratorios: lugares liminales de transformación = Subjectivities interwoven in records of gender violence and migration processes: Liminal transformation thresholds

Abstract

A diversity of daily life processes are responsible for the build-up of subjectivity, some of them take place under critical circumstances, as is the case with gender violence instances that intersect with migration processes to foreign countries. This work attempts to look into the transformation of subjectivites that emerge from those critical instances, and to show how those subjectivities may be “seized” from the utterances (five of them) of migrant women about their experiences. Our results indicate that they are subjective accounts which are vulnerable to start with and which are subject to hegemonic and constrictive expository positions. Upon liminal experiences such as pain, discomfort, or else receiving assistance by others, and future expectations, those accounts turn into emerging subjectivities that we validate as having significant transformative power

La subjetividad se construye en diferentes procesos de la vida cotidiana, entre ellos en situaciones críticas, como son las situaciones de violencia de género que intersectan con procesos migratorios a otros países. Esta investigación busca observar la transformación de subjetividades tomando esos momentos críticos, y a la vez, mostrar cómo pueden aprehenderse dichas subjetividades a través de la narración que 5 mujeres migrantes hacen sobre sus experiencias. Los resultados indican subjetividades vulnerables de partida, sujetas a posiciones enunciativas hegemónicas y constrictivas, que a partir de lugares liminales como experiencias de dolor, de malestar, o bien de soporte de otros/ as, y de expectativas futuras, se convierten en subjetividades emergentes que se constatan con gran potencial transformador
