The different spaces in the nursery school contribute to the development of mathematical thinking in children under 3 years of age. From this perspective, the aim of this article is to explore the opportunities offered by the construction space to develop emergent mathematics in nursery school (0-3 years). To this end, using pedagogical documentation as a technique of analysis, we identify the emergent mathematics in the actions carried out by a group of 2-3-year-olds during a session in the construction space. The data show that intuitive and informal knowledge associated with sensory qualities, numbers and operations, positions and shapes, and measurable attributes begins to develop. It is concluded that the construction space is an ideal space for the development of emergent mathematics, provided that there is good planning and management of the various materials
