Situaciones de aprendizaje para desarrollar el sentido estocástico: contribuyendo a formar una ciudadanía crítica desde la educación matemática

Guidelines are presented for Early Childhood and Primary Education teachers to design and implement learning situations that contribute to the development of stochastic sense. To this end, the article is structured in two parts: firstly, stochastic sense is characterised on the basis of the inputs of the Spanish curriculum, analysing the specific competences, assessment criteria and knowledge of the early childhood and primary education; and, secondly, some essential issues for the design and implementation of learning situations are described and two examples are presented for these stages, respectively. It is concluded that these kinds of situations in which students co-construct stochastic knowledge are the essential starting point for training a more critical citizenship ​
