The aim of this article is to contrast and compare four different approaches to the translation of two poems by Baudelaire, both taken from the volume Les fleurs du mal. Can poetry ever truly be translated? Although many critics have often believed that poetry is beyond translation, this study will focus in on the supposedly 'untranslatable' elements of the poems, looking at which versions can be considered a success and to what extent ​
