This study analyses three stochastic projects through the use of children' stories to promote the development of statistical and probabilistic literacy in Early Childhood Education. Based on a descriptive case study carried out during the professional practices of a pre-service teacher, we identify the knowledge that a group of 22 children aged 5-6 years begin to internalise during data collection, the use of statistical tables and the use of probabilistic language. The results show that, in relation to the development of statistical literacy, they identify categories, make concrete statistical tally tables and pictorial ones, and move towards frequency tables; and, with respect to probabilistic literacy, they begin to develop intuitive meaning using probabilistic language on a qualitative scale between impossible and certain. It is concluded that children stories can be a suitable resource to promote statistical and probabilistic literacy in Early Childhood Education
