In this research we study the degree of influence that certain contextual and personal factors in the teaching approach used by the teacher. The sample consists of 259 teachers at the University of Girona to which we applied the ATI (The Approaches to Teaching Inventory). The results indicate that the dedication of the teachers (exclusive or partial), years of experience, age and field of study influence the teaching approach while the number of students not ​
