The aim of this study is to provide a theoretical basis for the use of stories as a resource to introduce the learning of fuzzy set theory in nursery and primary school classrooms. To this end, a number of stories were selected which have concepts and procedures that allow this theory to be introduced into the classroom, the idea being to formalize mathematical learning that has previously only been carried out on an informal basis. The results of the analysis show that the stories in question present a multitude of examples of fuzzy thinking expressed in natural language, and that they are consequently an entertaining way of introducing fuzzy set theory at early ages. The goal here is that set theory not solely focus on a binary conception within the current system for teaching mathematics, since this has proven to be the source of misconceptions
