Estrategias educativas para comprender y actuar en el mundo actual

The purpose of this paper is to describe some educational strategies aimed at strengthening the link between education and society by promoting citizen involvement in its improvement. We develop our proposal taking into account the objectives of sustainable development and global competence, characterized by four dimensions: The ability to critical analyze issues and situations of local, global and cultural relevance; the ability to understand and appreciate different perspectives and views of the world; the ability to establish positive interactions with different people; and the ability and willingness to adopt constructive measures aimed at sustainable development and collective well-being (OECD, 2018). Finally, emphasis is placed on 'education plus' and service learning as suitable educational strategies to promote the involvement of students in the improvement of their environment, as well as reflection on technological communication tools as useful tools to advance towards global competence ​
