Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the contributions of the first women who worked in the Spanish radio from the birth of the invention, in the decade of twenties in the xx century until the Spanish Civil War. Therefore, the female announcers focus the axis of this writing, but we must not forget that females broadcasters who began their career in that Spain of Primo de Rivera: telephone operators, administrative and translators. Girls formed, with language skills, who found in wireless telephony a way to develop themselves professionally. The audience participation in the programs and the realization of a closed program, magazine format, are two of women’s contributions to the history of radio. It’s necessary to claim and explain

El propósito de este artículo es relatar cuáles fueron las contribuciones de las primeras mujeres que trabajaron en la radio española desde el nacimiento del invento, en la década de los años veinte del siglo xx, hasta la Guerra Civil española. Por ello, las locutoras centraran el eje de este escrito, pero no hay que olvidar que en las emisoras que empezaron su andadura en aquella España de Primo de Rivera, se contrataron también a telefonistas, administrativas y traductoras. Mujeres formadas, con conocimientos de idiomas, entre otros, que por distintas razones encontraron en la Telefonía Sin Hilos un medio para desarrollarse profesionalmente. La participación de los oyentes en los programas y la realización de un espacio con formato magazine, son dos de las contribuciones femeninas a la historia de la radio que se gestaron en esa época y hay que reivindicarlas y explicarlas
