Abstract

The 18th century is also characterized by the individualist trends in the agrarian world, enacted by the landowners, who try to end up with certain consuetudinary laws and exclude others from their land’s premises. The closing of the land and the lamination of the communal uses continue during the 19th century. This phenomenon is illustrated through Cantallops’ case, a long conflict that stretches for about 150 years. The confrontation caused lawsuits for more than a century, the loss of communal uses in Cantallops and Requesens and, at a later time, the confiscation of the communal mountain by the CNT (Comissió Nacional de Treballadors or Workers’ National Commission) in 1936

El segle XVIII també es caracteritza per l'embat individualista en el món agrari protagonitzat per propietaris que intenten acabar amb certes consuetuds i excloure els altres de l'àmbit de les seves finques. El tancament de terres i la laminació dels usos comunals es perllonga durant el XIX. Aquest fenomen s'il·lustra amb el cas de Cantallops, un conflicte de llarga durada, que abraça un arc cronològic d'uns 150 anys. L'enfrontament portà a més d'un segle de plets, la pèrdua dels usos comunals a Cantallops i Requesens i, més tard, la confiscació de la muntanya comunal per la CNT el 1936
