The 18th century is also characterized by the individualist trends in the agrarian world, enacted by the landowners, who try to end up with certain consuetudinary laws and exclude others from their land’s premises. The closing of the land and the lamination of the communal uses continue during the 19th century. This phenomenon is illustrated through Cantallops’ case, a long conflict that stretches for about 150 years. The confrontation caused lawsuits for more than a century, the loss of communal uses in Cantallops and Requesens and, at a later time, the confiscation of the communal mountain by the CNT (Comissió Nacional de Treballadors or Workers’ National Commission) in 1936 ​
