About DUGiDocs
DUGiDocs is the institutional repository of the Universitat de Girona. Its aim is to preserve, spread and make visible the intellectual production issued from research and teaching lead at the UdG, such as degree final reports, master reports and doctorate research reports by university students as well as articles in scientific periodicals. Moreover it includes indexing and content description tools, makes visualization from many other internet sites easier (interoperability) and it also includes open access.
Library Service is reponsible fot DUGiDocs, which uses a free software (DSpace, Postgres, SOLR, etc.) and it is based on a free operating system (Linux).
DUGiDocs fits in UdG information systems, as GREC (research manager) and TDX (online PhD thesis), RACO (Open access Catalan periodicals) among other.
Repository functions are:
  • To guarantee interoperability: documents deposited in the repository can be located by means of other repositories and searchers using the same standars, as well as through Google and other internet search engines;
  • To maximize visibility and impact of the UdG scientific production. It applies search engine optimization techniques (SEO) to position items on the net and maximize its visibility;
  • To index contents and make them retrievable;
  • To collect a variety of documents, refering to supports, subjects and types;
  • To allow transversality, access and use to materials to other professors and students from UdG and worldwide;
  • To accomplish EU guidelines on European projects and national regulations on research data and publications in open access;
  • To provide and authority control that guarantees there are not any duplicate entries;
  • To guarantee UdG quality mark.
Aims
Reposity aims are:
  • To maximize visibility and access to authors and their scientific production, aswell as UdG itself;
  • To give added value to documents through indexing and standard bibliographic citation;
  • To protect later uses of documents aswell as copyright, by means of Creative Commons licenses;
  • To guarantee preservation of the deposited materials and that every digital object has its permanent URL;
  • To operate as archive of the research and scientific production issued fro the university and to ease later uses (to share or to recycle materials, to avoid duplicates, ...).
Who can deposit? What can be depoisted? In which formats?
Scientific articles must always be deposited by means of GREC application (UdG research management). Instructions to publish articles in DUGiDocs repository by means of GREC. To publish any other documents you may send them to: bibec.recerca@udg.edu
Materials deposited in DUGiDocs are:
  • Scientific articles, pre-prints, postprints and article final version, according to permissions given by publisher policies;
  • Informative articles;
  • Congress, workshop or seminar communications, presentations and posters;
  • PhD thesis and student reports: Research, TFG, PFC, TFM, etc;
  • Books or book chapters;
  • Research data;
  • Teaching materials and objects: notes, teaching and learning materials, applets, etc;
  • Institutional materials: academic year opening speeches, “honoris causa” investiture speeches, etc.
Despite DUGiDocs accepts any format types, we highly recommend PDF format. As an exception, for research reports and TFG, PFC, TFM ZIP, files are accepted.
Content access
Access to DUGiDocs is free, registers are public and open free. However, access to some documents fulltext is restricted, such as scientific articles. These restrictions are due to some periodicals’ publishing policies, that allow open access publication after an embargo period. These documents are shown with a lock. You may ask the author a copy by means of the option “Ask for a copy”.
Content preservation
In order to guarantee the preservation of deposited contents, we periodically:
  • Check the integrity;
  • Make backups;
  • We guarantee continuing access, by managing any necessary format changes.
Metadata reuse policy
Website provides access to information owned by Universitat de Girona. Universitat de Girona works to make all website ressources available for their reuse. In that sense, all metadata are published without any reuse restrictions and under Creative Commons CCO 1.0 Universal (CC0 1.0), Public Domain Offer license conditions. However, if you reuse any data published in DUGiDocs, you should cite the source and not alter its sense.
Access to publications through DUGiDocs don’t modify text, institutions or publishers’ copyrights. For any questions about text reuse you should contact authors or institutions they belong to. In case you don’t have any information about publication copyrights, you may only use them according to copyright regulation.
