Tria de perspectiva teòrica i justificació en estudiants de final de carrera de psicologia.

The aim of this article was investigate final year psychology students’ (N = 132) theoretical
orientation and their reasons for choosing in two classes at the University of Girona (Catalonia,
Spain) during the academic years 2009/10 and 2010/11 using exam’ questions. Nearly half of
the students chose cognitive and behavioral perspectives (46%) and a quarter chose
Humanism (27%). 10% of the students chose Eclecticism, 8% Systemic Psychology, 3%
Psychoanalysis and 4,5% proposed an Integration. As regards their reasons for their choice,
more students used personal affinity with the theoretical perspective than reasons relating to the
efficacy of the perspective and associated techniques. The need to improve critical reasoning in
new psychology degrees is discussed
