The development of self-learning through active methodologies requires the involvement of students. In practice, the extent to which students are involved is based on anecdotal evidence. This paper will use data from a survey elaborated by the authors and administered to college students to assess the level of involvement in learning that students achieve in an environment with active methodologies against expository methodologies ​
