A deposit of 176 bronze coins from the late imperial period found in the Episcopal complex of Empúries during the 2021 excavation campaign is studied. The deposit was made up of 119 Roman coins from between 316 and 378, 43 imitation specimens and a nummus of the century V, plus 13 illegible coins. The characteristics of these coins indicate that the deposit must have been formed in the area and the archaeological context places its final moment in the middle of the 5th century AD. The deposit was found in a hole located at the end of a step of the access stairway to the apse of the basilica, so its formation and function seem to be related to some use, surely votive, of this space
