This research work addresses the study and development of both functional and aesthetic prostheses. The proposed objectives at the outset have been successfully achieved, including the comprehensive exploration of materials and construction methods, as well as the creation of a functional prosthesis and an aesthetic one that accurately mimics the original hand. The existence of the phantom limb syndrome has been confirmed, demonstrating the connection between the prosthetic hand and sensations from the real hand. Practical challenges were identified in construction, particularly in the ability of the functional hand to grasp large or heavy objects. Furthermore, the importance of the trial-and-error method in the process is emphasized, allowing for continuous improvements. Despite encountered obstacles, the method followed is valued as extraordinary, and the personal and ethical learning derived from the experience is highlighted. It is concluded that 4 to advance in the field of prosthetics, it is essential to set new goals and maintain a rigorous methodological approach, as well as to foster collaboration with healthcare professionals. Incorporating new movements in functional prostheses and striving for greater realism in aesthetics is suggested. Continuous experimentation and prototype evaluation will be crucial in ensuring constant enhancements in the quality and effectiveness of prostheses
