Schizophrenia is classified as one of the serious mental disorders that negatively affects the entire biopsychosocial sphere of the person causing changes in their quality of life, in addition to the influence it generates in their social environment. Family support is of great importance for the development of the person with schizophrenia, being key to their prognosis. This is why these changes generally cause an increase in the emotion expressed (a critical, hostile and/or overprotective communication and relationship) due to the lack of knowledge on the part of the caregiver about schizophrenia affecting the interfamily relationship Evidence has shown that expressed emotion can directly lead to a decrease in quality of life that includes adherence to treatment and consumption of toxic substances. A program is proposed with the aim of carrying out an intervention in caregivers of users with schizophrenia to provide knowledge about the disorder and improve communication skills and the inter-family relationship with the aim of comparing the family relationship, communication skills , the prognosis and the quality of life among the people included in the "Program to reduce the expressed emotion of the person with schizophrenia and the caregiver" with a control group
