El Güell Espai Jove: l'acompanyament socioeducatiu al servei dels joves i de la comunitat

Abstract

This article presents the genesis, philosophy and dynamics of the Güell Espai Jove, a space created to serve young people living at the confluence of the neighborhoods of Sant Narcís, Santa Eugènia and Can Gibert del Pla, Girona. We highlight the flexibility of the project, which has been built on the knowledge of the young people to whom it is addressed, and which has changed as young people that have approached the service (themselves diverse and with very different interests and needs) have also changed. We also highlight the way of understanding socio-educational support and the community and involved conception of the Space, two characteristics that links El Güell with the original conception of social education and that make it different from other youth services. The article emphasizes the flexibility of the project (which does not have the preconceived character, defined and finished from the beginning, but has been built over time and is rethought as which evolves), because we consider that it is precisely this characteristic that enables it to respond and accompany young people who make regular use of the service, and that makes it unique, but also more difficult to fit in with the political dynamics and institutions that feel comfortable with services that have clear, well-defined goals, and quantifiable results

Del Güell se’n destaca la flexibilitat del projecte, que s’ha anat construint a partir del coneixement dels joves a qui s’adreça, i que ha anat canviant a mesura que els joves (ells mateixos diversos i amb interessos i necessitats ben diferents) que s’han apropat a l’Espai també han canviat. Se’n destaca també la manera d’entendre l’acompanyament socioeducatiu i la concepció comunitària i implicada de l’Espai, dues característiques que vinculen el Güell amb la concepció original de l’educació social i que el fan diferent a altres centres i serveis adreçats als joves. A l’article es posa l’accent en la flexibilitat del projecte, (que no té el caràcter preconcebut, definit i acabat en el moment de crear-se, sinó que s’ha anat construint amb el temps i es va repensant a mesura que evoluciona), perquè considerem que és precisament aquesta característica la que el capacita per a donar resposta i acompanyar els joves que fan un ús regular del centre, i la que el fa singular, però també de més difícil d’encaix amb les dinàmiques polítiques i ins- titucionals que es senten còmodes amb els serveis que tenen objectius clars, ben definits, i resultats quantificables
