Alfabetització en salut de les persones que freqüenten els serveis hospitalaris per problemes de salut no urgents: projecte de recerca

Abstract

In the last 10 years and nowadays, has increased attendance at hospital emergency departments (ED). In addition, a large part of the visits are considered inadequate, coming to represent between 20-80% of the total. There are several determinants associated with an increase in the use of ED visits and inappropriate use of this service, such as mobility patterns, demographic and socio-cultural factors, lack of confidence or knowledge of primary care urgent attention, low level of education and health literacy. However, these services are provided with high technology and highly qualified health professionals providing diagnosis, treatment and resolution of health problem presented generating greater use by the population. This excessive and inappropriate use generates excessive economic costs for the health system. In this issue presented in the ED plays an important role health literacy levels and this levels according to the European HLS-EU project, in Spain is largely inappropriate in the population. This fact means that people have more difficulty understanding, using, accessing and implement ealth information and to make a judgment about the better access to the health system, generating overuse of ED. Objective: Describe the level of health literacy presented by the population of the Girona region that attend to ED of Hospital Universitari Dr. Josep Trueta for a non-urgent health problem. Methods: Cross-sectional study with quantitative methods where study sample will be people habitually resident in the region of Girona who attend on ED of Hospital Dr. Josep trueta for non-urgent health problems. The quantitative and qualitative data will be obtained with a ad hoc questionnaire and others qualitative data will be obtained with HLS-EU-Q16 questionnaire. SPSS 23.0 will be used for the analysis of quantitative and qualitative variables

En els darrers 10 anys i en l'actualitat, ha anat augmentant la freqüentació en els serveis d'urgències hospitalari (SUH). A més, una gran part de les visites són considerades inadequades, arribant a suposar entre un 20-80% del total. Hi ha diferents determinants que s'associen a un augment de l' utilització del SUH i a un augment de les visites inadequades a aquest servei, com són entre d'altres patrons de mobilitat, factors socioculturals i demogràfics, manca de confiança i o coneixement de l'atenció primària urgent, baix nivell educatiu i d'alfabetització per la salut. Tanmateix, aquests serveis estan dotats d'alta tecnologia i personal altament qualificat facilitant el diagnòstic, tractament i resolució del problema de salut presentat per la persona que hi acudeix generant una major utilització per part de la població. Aquest ús inadequat i excessiu, genera despeses econòmiques excessives per al sistema de salut. En aquesta problemàtica presentada en els SUH, hi juga un paper important el nivell d'alfabetització per a la salut de les persones, i aquest nivell segons l'estudi europeu HLS-EU a Espanya és majoritàriament inadequat en la població. Aquest fet, comporta que la població tingui més dificultat per entendre, usar, accedir i aplicar la informació sanitària i poder emetre un judici correcte sobre quin és l'accés al sistema sanitari adient per un problema de salut determinat, generant conseqüentment aquesta sobre freqüentació dels SUH. Objectiu: Descriure el nivell d'alfabetització per la salut presentat per la població de la comarca del gironès que acut al servei d'urgències de l'Hospital Universitari Dr. Josep Trueta per rebre atenció sanitària per un problema de salut no urgent. Material i Mètodes: Estudi descriptiu transversal quantitatiu en el que la mostra seran les persones residents de forma habitual a la comarca del gironès que acudeixin al SUH de l'Hospital Dr. Josep Trueta per problemes de salut no urgents. Les dades quantitatives i qualitatives s'obtindran a partir d'un qüestionari ad hoc i també les qualitatives mitjançant el qüestionari HLS-EU-Q16. S'emprarà el programa SPSS 23.0 per l'anàlisis de les variables quantitatives i qualitatives
