El sitjar del Camp de l’Abadia (Aiguaviva, Gironès): dades noves sobre la romanització al Pla de Girona

Abstract

The field of silos of Camp de l’Abadia (Aiguaviva) is a valuable link in the evolution of the suburbium of Gerunda that goes back to before 218 BC with some strong frequentations difficult to define. The numerous excavated pits mark an intense occupation of the site from early years of 1st century BC to the last third or last quarter of 1st century AD. We pose the existence of an agrarian settlement within the indigenous tradition that, despite of overcoming the crisis of the beginning of High Empire, finally disappeared. El sitjar del Camp de l’Abadia (Aiguaviva) és una valuosa baula en l’evolució del suburbium de Gerunda, en aquest cas, retrocedint fins abans del 218 aC, amb unes freqüentacions fermes, difícils de definir. Les nombroses fosses excavades assenyalen una ocupació intensa del lloc d’ençà els primers anys del segle i aC fins al darrer terç o darrer quart del segle i de la nostra era. Cal suposar l’existència d’un establiment agrari de tradició indígena que malgrat superar la crisi d’inicis de l’alt imperi acabà desapareixent.
