‘For women only’: Poetic Models, Philographies and Reading in Joan Boscán The essay analyzes the valuation critics made of hendecasyllable poetry for female readers focusing in the reception preview made by Boscán in the epistle «A la duquesa de Soma» at the beginning of his Book II. The present study contextualizes Boscán’s rejection and adaptation of Italian forms and styles, the relationship between metric and philography and the new female model sketched in the verses, the theory and the reading practices. It concludes with the assessment of the poet’s conscience of the new dimension gained by his poetry ​
