The analysis of muscle activity and joint behavior in pathological conditions is essential in the fields of rehabilitation and biomedical engineering. Knee osteoarthritis is one of the main causes of pain and functional disability in the aging population, and the implantation of a total knee prosthesis has been established as an effective intervention to improve functionality and reduce pain. In this context, surface electromyography emerges as an objective tool to evaluate the activity of the muscles involved in knee movement, allowing a functional analysis before and after surgery. This technology provides key information on recovery and muscle coordination in the postoperative period. The objective of this work is the development of an electromyographic device capable of monitoring quadriceps activation in real time, with a special focus on patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty, in order to improve clinical monitoring and rehabilitation processes
