This study focuses on identifying the challenges faced by immigrant women who are
victims of gender-based violence in accessing the justice system. It considers both those who
choose to initiate criminal proceedings and those who turn to alternative services, such as the
Women's Information and Assistance Service (SIAD). To this end, a review of existing
literature on the subject was conducted, alongside semi-structured interviews with immigrant
women victims of gender-based violence, with the aim of giving voice to their experiences
and making their reality visible. In addition, interviews were carried out with two
professionals – a lawyer specializing in gender-based violence and a psychologist from the
aforementioned service – in order to delve deeper into the existing barriers. Based on a
criminological analysis of these interviews, the study proposes possible improvements to
address the identified obstacles
