This work addresses the issue of gender violence from a multidisciplinary perspective, analyzing both its meaning and its historical, legislative and social evolution. It begins with a conceptual definition of the term and continues with a review of the role of women in Spanish society, from the Second Republic to the present day, highlighting the socio-political changes that have influenced their situation. A detailed analysis of the legislative response at different levels (global, European, state and regional) is presented, as well as the evolution of abuse and the cycle of violence. The work also explores the profiles of the abuser and the victim, dismantling myths and prejudices rooted in society. In addition, parameters are established for advertising analysis and several awareness-raising campaigns are examined, culminating in a proposal entitled "Huye del que te adora", which includes both the design and analysis of its communicative effectiveness. Finally, it concludes with a reflection on the progress and pending challenges in the fight against gender-based violence
