Estudi de l'alimentació de l'òliba (Tyto alba) a partir de l'anàlisi d'egagròpiles

Abstract

The objective of this research work is to be able to discover and find out if the diet of this bird (a nocturnal bird of prey found in our regions) varies in some way throughout the year, or rather, its four seasons. So I decided to take advantage of the fact that on the agricultural estate of Can Dalmau de Mosqueroles, in Cassà de la Selva, a pair of these birds has been living and breeding there for a few years. To carry it out, it will be necessary to collect, analyze and examine the egagropiles that the owl makes, which are balls of food remains that it has not been able to digest and that it expels while digesting. Inside the egagropiles we find remains of skin, bones and food, so that when you open them you can know what the bird has eaten

L'objectiu d'aquest treball d'investigació es poder descobrir i esbrinar, si la alimentació d'aquest ocell (un rapinyaire nocturn que es troba a les nostres contrades) varia d'alguna manera al llarg de l'any, millor dit, de les seves quatre estacions. Així vaig decidir aprofitar el fet que a la finca agrícola de Can Dalmau de Mosqueroles, a Cassà de la Selva, hi viu i es reprodueix una parella d'aquestes aus des des de fa uns anys. Per a dur-ho a terme caldrà recollir, analitzar i examinar les egagròpiles que fa l'òliba, que són unes boles de restes de menjar que no ha pogut digerir i que les expulsa mentre fa la digestió. Dins les egagròpiles hi trobem restes de pell, ossos i de menjar, de manera que al obrir-les es pot saber què ha menjat l'ocell
