This work analyzes the influence of gregariousness and the need for belonging in the formation of adolescent identity, as well as the risks and benefits associated with group life. Based on a combination of personal experiences, direct observation in the classroom and surveys of adolescents, the social and psychological mechanisms that can lead to the loss of individuality, emotional dependence, fear of expressing oneself and the appearance of problems such as psychological bullying, low self-esteem and psychoasthenia are explored. The work shows that group pressure and the lack of a formed personality can lead to insecurity and difficulties in self-affirmation. It highlights the importance of resilience and self-esteem as protective factors, and proposes emotional education and literary expression as tools to overcome fear and recover one's own identity. Empirical data show a correlation between group dependence and personal dissatisfaction, and highlight the need to foster educational environments that promote respect, motivation and personal development
