IGNIS: Interfície per la Gestió i Neutralització d'Incendis Simulats

Abstract

Forest fires are one of the greatest environmental and safety challenges, with serious consequences for the natural environment, communities and economies. A rapid and effective response to these events is essential to minimize damage. In addition, the Mediterranean area is an area with a very varied vegetation and orography typology where there are very varied aspects to take into account. In this context, our research has developed a platform integrated by three modules that facilitates forest management, prevention, simulation and extinguishing of fires focused on the orography, climate and vegetation of the Mediterranean area. This tool allows to simulate the evolution of a fire, plan firebreaks and visualize the environment in a realistic way. With its application, the response and planning capacity of professionals and individuals is improved, contributing to a more effective and safe management of forest fires

Los incendios forestales son uno de los mayores desafíos medioambientales y de seguridad, con graves consecuencias para el medio natural, comunidades y economías. Una respuesta rápida y eficaz a estos eventos es fundamental para minimizar los daños. Además, la zona mediterránea es una zona con una tipología de vegetación y orografía muy variada donde hay aspectos muy variados para tener en cuenta. En este contexto, nuestra investigación ha desarrollado una plataforma integrada por tres módulos que facilita la gestión forestal, prevención, simulación y extinción de incendios centrada en la orografía, clima y vegetación de la zona mediterránea. Esta herramienta permite simular la evolución de un incendio, planificar cortafuegos y visualizar el entorno de forma realista. Con su aplicación, se mejora la capacidad de respuesta y planificación por parte de profesionales y particulares, contribuyendo a una gestión más eficaz y segura de los incendios forestales
