La prohibición de discriminación racial en el acceso a la vivienda: análisis de aplicación de la sanción a agentes inmobiliarios

Access to the housing market in a privately-led environment already represents a primary barrier to the protection of the right to housing, which is exacerbated if an additional barrier is added to those who are discriminated against due to their race, ethnicity, color, language, religion, relationship, origin, nationality, physical appearance, clothing, or even their administrative circumstances. This, in turn, can lead to the violation of other fundamental rights, such as the human dignity that every human being is entitled to by the mere fact of their existence. This paper aims to analyze the treatment of racial discrimination in access to rental housing in the autonomous community of Catalonia, based on a study of jurisprudence, national and regional regulations, and the sanctioning actions of administrative authorities
