Gender violence is one of the most brutal manifestations of the exercise of power over women.
For the very reason that it is such, in addition to violating the dignity and integrity of the person, it constitutes a public health problem. Misogyny has always been present in different forms, encompassing all areas of women's lives: personal, family, and work. Consequently, a sexist culture has given rise to social constructs called gender roles, according to which men are represented in the public imagination as the "intellect," while women are invested with "feelings," as inferior subjects whose fundamental role is restricted to caring for the family and providing services for all those in their care
