El "acordado canto" del ruiseñor en Diversas rimas de Espinel

Compartir
This article offers a circumscribed analysis of the symbolic treatment of the “agreed song” of birds in Diversas rimas (1591) by Vicente Espinel. Special emphasis is placed on the poet’s identification with the nightingale, attending to both the Petrarchan-Garcilasian tradition and the humanism of Seville in the Golden Age, with which he was familiar during his formative stage in the Andalusian capital. Outstanding figures such as Francisco Guerrero, Gutierre de Cetina, Baltasar del Alcázar, Cristóbal Mosquera de Figueroa or Juan de Mal Lara, among other names, are of interest for the object of study addressed in the confluence and translation of codes between poetry and music, with attention to the generic modality of the madrigal.
