EnglishTitle. Journey as sexual metaphor: from folk lyric to Golden Age poetry. Within the erotic literature of Golden Age’s studies, one of the most fruitful fields of research has traditionally been the recognition, decoding and systematisation of sexual vocabulary. Based on the analysis, comparison and commentary of more than five hundred poems, this article attempts to demonstrate how the area of knowledge referring to travel and movement in space, which has received little attention from experts to date, has unquestionable sexual connotations in the Hispanic literary tradition: from popular lyric poetry and the Galician-Portuguese cantigas to the erotic poetry of the Golden Age, without overlooking Petrarchism and the romancero ​
