Percepció del risc volcànic dels habitants de la comarca de la Garrotxa

Abstract

El present document analitza la percepció del risc volcànic que tenen els habitants de la comarca de la Garrotxa, un territori català amb una història geològica i volcànica rellevant. Per fer-ho es focalitza l'estudi en l’anàlisi comparativa entre dos grups d’edat clarament diferenciats: la població d’entre 18 i 35 anys i la població major de 55 anys. En col·laboració amb el Consell Superior d'Investigacions Científiques de Barcelona, la metodologia utilitzada s’ha basat en l’aplicació d’una enquesta a una mostra de la població de la Garrotxa. Els resultats obtinguts mostren que la població té uns coneixements bàsics sobre la vulcanologia de la Garrotxa, però també una carència en formació sobre actuació en cas d’emergència volcànica. Tot i que la variable “edat” no ha estat determinant en el càlcul de la percepció del risc volcànic, els joves han demostrat més coneixement en aspectes tècnics gràcies al fet que han tingut més informació i formació. Els majors de 55 anys han demostrat tenir més coneixement en algun aspecte purament de la Garrotxa i asseguren més capacitat per prendre decisions en cas d’emergència

The present document analyzes the perception of volcanic risk among the inhabitants of the Garrotxa region, a Catalan territory with a significant geological and volcanic history. The study focuses on a comparative analysis between two clearly differentiated age groups: the population aged 18 to 35 and those over 55. In collaboration with the Higher Council for Scientific Research in Barcelona, the methodology used was based on conducting a survey of a sample of the Garrotxa population. The results obtained show that the population has basic knowledge of the volcanology of Garrotxa but also lacks training on what to do in case of a volcanic emergency. Although the variable "age" was not determinant in calculating the perception of volcanic risk, young people demonstrated more knowledge in technical aspects due to having received more information and training. Those over 55 showed more knowledge in certain specific aspects of Garrotxa and claimed to have greater capacity to make decisions in case of an emergency
