Introduction: Intersectionality, which recognizes the interaction between different dimensions of identity, is crucial for comprehensively understanding how the mental health of pregnant individuals is altered in different contexts. This research focuses on exploring how intersectionality influences postpartum mental health and quality of life of pregnant individuals in the Girona Health Region. By considering these intersections of identity, the aim is not only to improve the understanding of these disorders, but also to develop more inclusive and culturally sensitive intervention strategies. Objective: To analyze the intersectionality of pregnant individuals in relation to their mental health and its impact on quality of life, considering sociodemographic and obstetric variables, as well as exploring experiences, barriers, and challenges in their postpartum mental health process. Methodology: A multicenter study with mixed methodology is proposed, combining an observational, prospective study with a cross-sectional and longitudinal design, using quantitative methodology, and a qualitative study with phenomenological analysis. The study will be carried out in 7 obstetric care centers in the province of Girona. A sample of N=341 pregnant individuals who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria has been calculated. Using an ad hoc questionnaire (sociodemographic variables, and obstetric and mental health history), and different validated scales, differences in quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF), depressive symptomatology (PHQ-9), stress (PSS-10), breastfeeding difficulties (BSEF-SF), and obstetric violence (OV) at different moments of pregnancy, and during follow-up until 9 months postpartum will be studied. In the qualitative phase, between 8 and 10 in-depth interviews will be conducted using a semi-structured guide, recruiting by quotas to ensure the representativeness of diversity of intersectional profiles
