The aim of this project consist in synthesizig and doing a research of the character design process for an animation. The information in the project has been found on the internet, in books, videos and from an interview. The practical part of the project consists in making three characters with a story behind them, contextualized in the past fishing culture in Lloret de Mar. The root of any character design is the previous research and its intention in the story. Before defining all the physical aspects, the principles of character design must be well understood. Simplification and exaggeration, along with shape language (square, circle and triangle) will define the success of the design. These concepts, when used correctly, help to convey the intention in an effective way. With the color, balance and contrast, and scale, you can learn to use visual weight and also, the importance of various aspects such as symmetry and asymmetry. In the section of body design, apart from anatomy, it is explained how to apply correctly the center of gravity and the dynamism of the action line. And in the face section it is explained the location of the features and how the muscles function with each expression. In the practical part, I contextualize the characters in Lloret de Mar and in the time when fishing was its main economic source. Then, I put into action the aspects mentioned throughout the work. The end result is a staging of the three characters ​
