Abstract

Der Eintrag Nationalismus' in Diccionari per a ociosos von Joan Fuster entwickelt, basierend auf der Entdeckung des Begriffs Nationist [nacionista] in den Diccionari Aguiló, einen Essay über die kollektive katalanische Identität in der Neuzeit. Die Existenz eines solchen Begriffs in der katalanischen Sprache, so Fuster, lange bevor überall in Europa die Konstruktion moderner nationaler Ideologien begann, offenbart in einem fast vorahnenden Sinne die katalanische nationale Verfassung, die auf halbem Weg zwischen den Völkern 'ausgezeichnet' wie Frankreich liegt und die 'frustrierten' Völker, wie Okzitanien. Fuster entwickelte seine Hypothese jedoch, ohne den Kontext der von Marià Aguiló zitierten Quelle, einer Dominikanerklosterchronik vom Anfang des s. XVII: Lumen Domus. In diesem Beitrag gehen wir den Weg nach, den Fuster nicht eingeschlagen hat, um den Sinn zu verstehen, in dem dieses einzigartige Zeugnis des Begriffs Nationist in der katalanischen Sprache erscheint. The 'Nacionalisme' entry in Diccionari per a ociosos, by Joan Fuster, develops, based on the finding in the Diccionari Aguiló of the term nationist [nacionista], an essay on Catalan collective identity in the modern era. According to Fuster, the existence of a term like this in the Catalan language long before the construction of modern national ideologies began anywhere in Europe reveals in an almost premonitory sense the Catalan national condition, halfway between the 'excellent' peoples, like France, and the 'frustrated' ones, like Occitania. Fuster deployed his hypothesis, however, without having checked the context of the source quoted by Marià Aguiló, a Dominican convent chronicle from the beginning of the 17th century: Lumen Domus.
