El valor del voluntariat des de la mirada de l'Educació social

Abstract

Els voluntariats són la forma contemporània del que des dels inicis de la nostra espècie denominem com a ajuda mútua. És, doncs, un element intrínsec de la persona i que molts professionals de l’àmbit social han portat a la pràctica. L’estudi se centrarà en un anàlisi teòrico-pràctic del voluntariat i recollirà la visió del fenomen per part d’educadors socials. La voluntat de canvi així com la inèrcia familiar són alguns dels factors que els porten a participar, molts d’aquests compartits amb els que els porten aendinsar-se en el món de l’educació social. L’impactesocial que generen és molt concret segons l’àmbit departicipació, però en despunta la part comunitària i la solidaritat; generar espais de transformació són l’altre cara de la moneda dels beneficis personals i professionals. Es conclou amb l’estudi que les figures de l’educació social i el voluntariat no es troben gens allunyades i cal detallar-ne el paper per no perjudicar la professionalització d’una tasca social poc valorada

Volunteering is the contemporary form of what we have known since the beginning of our species as mutual aid. It is, therefore, an intrinsic element of the person and has been put into practice by many professionals in the social field. The study focuses on at heoretical-practical analysis of volunteering and includes the vision of the phenomenon by social educators. The will to change as well as family inertia are some oft he factors that lead them to participate, many of which are shared with those that lead them to enter the world of social education. The social impact they generate is very specific depending on the area of participation, but the community and solidarity are the most important aspects. Generating spaces for transformation is the other side of personal and professional benefits. The study concludes that the figures of social education and volunteering are not far apart and the role needs to be detailed so as not to harm the professionalisation of a social task that is nothighly valued
