Característiques del tractament de la dependència a l'alcohol en les comunitats terapèutiques: revisió bibliogràfica

Abstract: Alcohol, along side with tobacco, is a highly prevalent drug in our society, as it has a high social acceptance in our culture, in addition to its easy access as it is considered a legal drug. In Catalonia, this substance accounts for 44% of treatment initiations during the year 2021, and 54% of hospital emergencies. The biopsychosocial factors of a person determine the possibility of starting a risky consumption, increasing tolerance and dependence, both physical and emotional, until becoming ill towards alcoholism. Among the different treatment centres that can be offered, the TC (Therapeutic Communities) are long-stay residential spaces, normally in rural areas, which accompany the person to the detoxification of their life of consumption, starting with the importance of learning to live in a community and establishing daily routines. In addition, the interdisciplinary team that works within the TC to help the person in each of the phases of treatment. Objectives: To identify the service factors and personal factors that influence treatment adherence and discharge of users of the therapeutic community in the treatment of alcohol abuse. And describe the benefits of the therapeutic community on the alcohol abuse treatment the treatment of alcohol abuse and compare it with other services ​
