This work presents the analysis of the practices carried out by the author in context of the Transcultural Music Therapy Master. These have been done at the Residència Verge del Remei at Arenys de Munt (Barcelona) for elderly people and have consisted in 37 music therapy sessions in which a total of 38 people, organized into 3 groups, participated. The results obtained show improvements especially in indicators of monitoring the pulse, establishing eye contact and, mainly, the presence of smiles during the sessions. In addition, qualitatively, a high level of satisfaction in relation to the sessions was also appreciated. All of this confirms the convenience of using music therapy in context of elderly, as it allows working on objectives in the physical-motor, cognitive, social and emotional domains, contributing to an improvement in their quality of life. In addition, a bibliographic review is presented on the use of music therapy with carers of elderly. Caring for elderly dependent people often involves a high level of physical and emotional stress which can cause exhaustion and even physical and/or mental illness. Whether preventively or therapeutically, music therapy can provide improvements in the physical, social and emotional areas of the caregiver. It can also help them, with specific techniques, to incorporate music in an appropriate way in their care tasks
