Introduction: Social prescription is the recommendation of health activities between a health professional and a person, with the aim of improving the health and well-being of the latter. The prevalence of mental health problems increases with age and in the female gender. It is also higher in people of lower social class and in people with a lower level of education. Anxiety and depression are the most frequent mental health disorders in our society. Social prescription is one more tool for health professionals to solve mental health problems, avoiding medicalization and unnecessary prescription of antidepressants and anxiolytics. Objective: The main objective of the study is to identify the effect of a social prescription program in people with anxiety and/or depression problems who follow controls in the basic health area of Cassà de la Selva.
