Una aproximació a la qüestió dels orígens dels indoeuropeus: una història de llengües, gens i migracions

Abstract

D’ençà es conformaren, ara fa més de tres centúries, les primeres hipòtesis orientades a demostrar l’existència d’una llengua primigènia en l’àmbit del continent euroasiàtic, la indoeuropea, que els debats i els enfocs historiogràfics entorn aquesta dificultat s’han anat succeint, sovint de manera maniquea, i basculant entre el mite i la realitat. El present treball pretén esclarir i posar en ordre tot aquest corpus d’estudis inicialment lingüístics, però avui també arqueològics i paleogenètics, confegint un estat de la qüestió solvent que abraci des dels discursos més tradicionals coherents amb la busca d’uns orígens, el mite fundacional, fins a les propostes actuals, conduïdes des del mètode científic i des d’una dimensió de la recerca no només idiomàtica, «l’indoeuropeu», sinó també demogràfica i cultural, «els indoeuropeus»

Since they began being developed, three centuries ago, the firsts hypotheses pretending to evince the existence of a primal language in the Eurasian continent (the Indo- European language), debates and historiographic approaches around them have increased, balancing between myths and reality. This thesis pretends to provide clarity and order to the aforementioned hypotheses and studies that in its early beginning were only linguistic, but nowadays are archaeological and paleogenetics as well. It gathers both the traditional but coherent approaches looking for the origins and the latest points of view developed by using the scientific method. Finally, it extends the research beyond the idiomatic purposes «Indo-European Language», meeting also demographical and cultural dimensions «The Indo-Europeans».
