Since their emergence, video games have been evolving and improving with state-of-the-art technology, leading, for example, to longer playing time or better graphics. Another improvement is the possibility of creating better procedural content. Procedural content is content that is automatically generated by the machine following patterns or rules to make the generated material coherent. Procedural generation can be applied to generate levels, sounds, animations, narrative, etc. Therefore, there is no one-size-fits-all algorithm for all content. One such algorithm for generating levels is Wave Function Collapse (WFC), which is inspired by an idea from quantum mechanics and uses a set of rules and superposition of different states to generate content. The project aims to make a city generator using the WFC algorithm and a video game using the levels generated with the main mechanics of interconnected streets.
