Royal weddings involved a series of festivities, and were among the greatest events that citizens lived. They were not only private events, but also of demonstrations with great political and social impact. The Manual d'Acords of 1615 contains a description of the celebrations for these double weddings in Girona. We have a record of the ceremonial acts that took place on the days of the festivities, as well as precise information on the instrumentalists, musical groups and specific musicians. The documentation also provides us with data on the payments that were made, thus confirming the important role played by music in the different ceremonies
Les noces reials comportaven tota una sèrie de festivitats, i eren un dels grans esdeveniments que vivien els ciutadans. No es tractava només d’actes privats, sinó que també eren
manifestacions que estaven dotades d’una gran càrrega política i social. El Manual d’acords
de 1615 recull la descripció de les celebracions a propòsit de les cerimònies que festejaren
aquestes dobles noces a Girona. Tenim constància dels actes cerimonials que es visqueren
els dies que duraren els festeigs, i també disposem d’informació precisa sobre instrumentistes, agrupacions musicals i músics concrets. La documentació també ens proporciona
dades sobre els pagaments que es feren, la qual cosa confirma l’important paper que tenia
la música en els diferents actes cerimonials
