sostenible i biodegradable
In modern agriculture, different types of plastics are used to improve both
environmental conditions and thus favoring development and productivity, facilitate
their use and work, or to improve the conservation and marketing of the products. In plastics
we can ascribe an important part of the progress made by agriculture today
essential components of the different links in the production chain.
Unfortunately, this large amount of used plastic is not usually reused or recycled,
thus causing an accumulation of waste that causes innumerable damage to our environment.
Getting rid of plastic waste is certainly a priority. For this reason, in the
In recent years, researchers have been working to reduce dependence on
fuels and petroleum-based products, from which a large majority of materials come
plastics, due to the increase in environmental awareness. This has made it grow in size
measures interest in sustainable and environmentally friendly materials in order to
replace existing ones. One of these polymeric materials is poly (3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB),
a semi-crystalline linear polymer belonging to the class of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA). The PHB
it is completely biodegradable and biocompatible and is produced from resources
renewables such as various polysaccharides, fatty acids and certain compounds from the
fermentation usually of agricultural waste. However, despite its potential
properties that make it a promising alternative, the PHB is unstable during the
processing at high temperatures causing thermal degradation that reduces the
its mechanical performance. Its reinforcement with natural fibers can be a totally alternative
sustainable and biodegradable
