Disseny i fabricació d’un disc intervertebral mitjançant fabricació additiva

Abstract

Actualment, el dolor lumbar es troba molt extens entre la població, on un 80% d’aquesta l’ha patit durant algun moment de la seva vida. En la majoria de casos, aquest dolor és provocat per la degeneració del disc intervertebral, és a dir, la pèrdua de les seves propietats mecàniques originals. Per aquesta raó, existeixen tractaments, un dels quals és mitjançant la substitució del disc natural per una pròtesi funcional o mitjançant fusió espinal, aquest últim el qual provoca la pèrdua de la mobilitat entre les dues vèrtebres afectades. Les pròtesis discals actuals es fabriquen mitjançant mètodes tradicionals, com pot ser el mecanitzat o l’emmotllament, en funció de la pròtesi i els seus components. Degut a la possibilitat de poder adaptar la pròtesi a cada pacient, per tal d’aconseguir una millor funcionalitat, s’ha realitzat un estudi per comprovar la viabilitat d’incorporar la fabricació additiva
