Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that affects millions of people in the world.
Specifically, Diabetes Mellitus type 1 appears frequently during childhood. The
number of people with this pathology is increasing, which leads to an increase in
morbidity and health costs. For this reason, the handling of the disease remains
a major challenge due to poor therapeutic adhesion, so the emergence of new
technologies is a major therapeutic advance, which needs more than usual
training and commitment. The role of nursing is essential for the training of
diabetic people, to help them, to make them responsible and to guide them in the
use of monitored glucose controllers (MCG), as well as to show them the
advantages and drawbacks they entail. To develop this role, nursing
professionals must have specific and up-to-date knowledge.
Objectives: Evaluate the effectiveness of the training intervention called “Els
controladors de glucosa monitoritzats en el tractament de la DM1” addresses to
nursing professionals in Baix Empordà primary care centers
