The purpose of this paper is to
focus on confession – understood
as a literary genre – and propose, based on the inferred forms,
how it can also be a cinematographic genre. It is divided into
two parts: firstly, the paper will
devise a profile of the practice of
confession in connection with
other writing practices, such as
philosophy and poetry, which
are opposing genres according
to María Zambrano. Secondly,
drawing on the established
profile, the paper will comment
on two films which represent the
ambiguous and unreliable confessions of individuals that reveal
their truths and doubts: Là-bas
(2006), by Chantal Akerman,
and Terra de Ninguém (2012),
by Salomé Lamas
