Grupo de apoyo para personas con una amputación del miembro inferior: proyecto de investigación

Abstract

Amputation is seen as a big physical loss, which causes so many complications to the person who suffers it. However, this event affects not only on a physical level, but also on a psychologically. Currently there are different physical and psychological therapies, aids and grants for these people. The only disadvantage is that there are no programs that incorporate the two kinds of therapies and that help in a holistically. For that reason, the aim of this research project is to evaluate the satisfaction obtained and the improvement of the quality of life of the amputees of a lower member who attend a social support group, where different group therapies will be given and information on different topics of interest will be provided. A transversal study of mixed research design will be carried out on a sample of amputees from a lower member belonging to the province of Girona and who have been treated at the Dr. Josep Trueta hospital, in the amputation procedure during the years 2015 and 2020. As a study tool, a Likert survey and the validated WHOQOL-BREF scale will be used as a quantitative methodology, followed by semi-structured interviews, as a qualitative methodology. Variables such as sex, age, level of amputation of the lower limb and years with the amputation will be studied, among others. Then, the responses will be analyzed and the quantitative and qualitative results managed by the programs SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) and ATLAS.ti will be compared. Subsequently, they will be used in a complementary way to obtain objective conclusions but with nuances that help us understand the results

La amputación se ve como una gran pérdida física, la cual causa miles de complicaciones a la persona que la sufre, sin embargo éste suceso no sólo afecta a nivel físico, sino también a nivel psicológico. Actualmente hay diferentes terapias físicas y psicológicas, ayudas y subvenciones para estas personas, el único inconveniente es que no hay programas que incorporen los dos tipos de terapias y que ayuden de una manera holística. Por esta razón, el objetivo de este proyecto es evaluar la satisfacción obtenida y la mejora de la calidad de vida de las personas amputadas de un miembro inferior que asistan a un grupo de apoyo, donde se impartirán diferentes terapias grupales y se proporcionará información sobre diferentes temas de interés. Se realizará un estudio transversal de diseño de investigación mixto que se desarrollará sobre una muestra de personas amputadas de un miembro inferior que pertenezcan a la provincia de Girona y que se hayan tratado en el hospital Dr. Josep Trueta, en el procedimiento de amputación durante los años 2015 y 2020. Como instrumento de estudio se utilizará una encuesta “Likert” y la escala validada “WHOQOL-BREF” como metodología cuantitativa; seguido de entrevistas semiestructuradas, como metodología cualitativa. Se estudiarán variables como: sexo, edad, nivel de amputación del miembro inferior y años que lleva con ella, entre otros más. Seguidamente se realizará un análisis de las respuestas y se compararán los resultados cuantitativos y cualitativos gestionados mediantes los programas: “SPSS” (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) y “ATLAS.ti. Posteriormente, se utilizaran de manera complementaria para obtener unas conclusiones objetivas pero con matices que nos ayuden a entender los resultados
