Although this means going beyond traditional «philological» disciplines, historical linguists cannot avoid study a fundamental aspect that historically characterizes and affects languages: the emotional content that speakers associate to them. However, it is necessary make a distinction between idiolects, natural, and public language, which is usually the benchmark of linguistic feelings. We propose an anthropological explanation linking the evolutionary process of human species with the cohesive role of cultural elements and the origin of languages, which allows us to understand why it is necessary to link to language feelings that often inspire us passions and can also become painful. Linguistic emotions are tied to the projection of public image, to the feeling of belonging to a community, to the will of transcendence of individuals ​
