Objective: To know the job satisfaction level of emergency department professionals in an emergency department and their level of emotional exhaustion. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: Questionnaires completed by workers of the emergency department to study their sociodemographic and job variables. Questionnaires: work incentives, general satisfaction and job burnout (MBI). Results: 71,4% responded to the survey. The average punctuation of job satisfaction was 6,98 and 68,26 in the general satisfaction scale. We found correlation between emotional exhaustion of MBI and seniority, with better punctuations in professionals with more seniority (p=0,024), and an inverse relation between personal accomplishment and seniority (p=0,024). Also, an inverse relation between emotional exhaustion and optimism (p=0,023), and a positive relation with personal accomplishment (p=0,018). Job satisfaction and MBI were associated in a significative way (p<0,05). Conclusions: Emergency department professionals have similar punctuations of job satisfaction and burnout to the bibliography and both variables are related
